Effective December 12, 2015 all chemical imports into Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, will be subject to new shipment regulations.

These regulations require consignees to complete chemical permit and clearance permission procedures before vessel arrival at the port.

In case discharge of the cargo will be refused it will be returned on the same ship. Additional costs incurred will be charged to the shipper.

Reason for implementation is that too many containers are lying at Jeddah port (approx. 4500 TEU) without a chemical permit.

Implementation of this procedure will also start at other ports (Dammam/Jubail) soon.
